Ramblings on a miserable night

"May I never miss a sunset or rainbow because I am looking down."

Author: Sara June Parker

It is such a miserable night here tonight I felt I needed something to cheer me up. So, I looked for a sunset picture. I took this a couple of weeks ago - there is a bit of flare in it for which I apologise, I'm not sure how to get rid of it. Sunset pictures alway make me feel better, I think it is the lovely orange and yellow sky that does it.

Karen passed her driving test today, yippeee.  She was so nervous before  it - I so remember that feeling, not nice.  Anyway she was so pleased with herself, quite rightly.  The only trouble is I think I may lose my car to her.  Speaking of things to be proud of, Emma, my youngest, has just sat her 5th year school exams and did very well in them. She is now about to begin her final year at school before leaving to begin her adult life. Wow, where did the time go!!!!

Laura, is back from London, she was there for a few days during the week. I am so glad she is back with all the trouble that is happening there. Very, very scary, I wouldn't want to be there just now. I wonder what the world is coming to sometimes. It's getting to the point where I don't want to watch the news on the television now. Anyway enough of that.

Our new bathroom suite was delivered today, we can't move in the garage for all the stuff in there.  I think Dan is thinking What have I got myself into. :))

Hi Ellie,

You've been on my mind, the news on TV is terrible and shocking. I really hope those goons get rounded up and severely punished!!

On the other hand, I love the photograph - it's so rich and magnificent. It's beautiful :)
Congrats to your daughter on passing her driving test. I took mine a few weeks back. I needed a driving license here as I shifted recently from India. I had a very strict instructor who would yell (i'm anyways a nervous driver) a lot. I did pass though. That was a big relief!
Must be great having both your kids home. Enjoy and soak in the love.

Hopefully things settle down soon. Winter always turns to spring :)

I agree something so peaceful about sunsets and sunrises. I love that quote from Anne of Green Gables where she says "the sun will go on rising and setting" whether she fails or not. It's a constant in a chaotic world at times.
Hope things settle down for you soon.

Hopefully you'll return to my blog soon, and discover that sunrise and sunset pictures are favorites of mine - especially on the weekends. This is beautiful. There's something soothing about them - in the midst of all the chaos in the world..

I saw this the first time I looked at your blog and did not comment...but I love the photo.

I was cleaning earlier today...actually going through a drawer. I found a couple cloth diapers I had used on my girls...they are 31 and 29! I got a catch in my throat and wondered where the time had gone.
