Favourite Picture of 2011

I have been looking through all my posts from last year looking for my favourite picture. Wow, I didn't realise I had posted so much!!!

Anyway this picture I think is my favourite. Firstly because it was such a fun day. Karen and I had gone for a walk in the woods. Half way around is started to absolutely pour with rain - we had to keep going as there was nowhere to shelter. We were laughing so much because we were SO wet. While we were hurrying along I saw this vision in front of me and I had to stop and shoot it. So there I was standing still taking this picture while being hammered by the rain. I must have looked a right old sight lol. Thanks goodness nobody but Karen saw me!!!

The second reason I like this picture is because I think it has a real dreamlike quality to it. The light in the picture is actually caused by the rain. Anyway one day I might even print this off and put it on my wall.

The reasons why you said you liked this as a photo are the very reasons why I think it's wonderful - the whole scene is beautifully captured in particular the left area , and well done under the wet circumstances! I also really like your story behind it on terms of having fun with your friend- a lovely memory tied up in a lovely photo

What is amazing is that your camera was able to take that shot even in the rain! I missed a lot of great scenes because I was careful not to wet the camera!
