My Weekend

I had a really good Saturday. Karen wanted to buy some fabric and materials to make some more soft toys. Since there are no fabric shops around where we live we had to get the train to Glasgow. Emma decided she wanted to come too. Laura is home just now and her boyfriend is here for the weekend - so she was happy to spend the day at home with him.
We didn't get into Glasgow until about noon and it was BUSY, I  hate shopping when it is crowded but hey ho. We went to a shop called Mandor's who do great fabric - I love going there I could spend hours wandering about, and we probably did :)  Karen gots lots of furry material and the like and was well pleased with what she got.  I bought some white cotton and a couple of quilting books - I do plan on trying to make one soon (hopefully).

We left there and wandered to the Buchanan shopping centre so Emma could buy herself some new clothes. We all came home with exactly what we wanted - most unusual!! The train journey home was a laugh -I think my girls bring out the youthful side of me lol.

After dinner Dan put on The Eagles dvd.   It was their Farewell Tour of Australia from 2004 - I LOVE  the Eagles I think they must be one of the best bands of all time.  So we spent a very pleasant couple of hours listening and watching the DVD.

Today, was quite a grey day, although it was dry. Karen and I decided to go for a walk on the beach. You can't beat a bit of fresh air on a Sunday!!!

I decided to get onto ground level to take some pictures. The one shot I didn't get that I wanted was to try and get the waves coming in.

There I was kneeling in the wet sand with my camera at the ready when I heard thundering steps coming from behind.  A black lab was coming running full speed towards my back. I caught sight of him out of the corner of my eye and decided to get up and get that shot another day. If  he had run into me I may have ended up in the sea and it was way too cold for that lol.

I'll just have to try that shot another day. :))

Wonderful perspective in this photos. They should be viewed large as they are gorgeous. (Also, glad you didn't get overcome by the black lab!)

Wishing you much happiness in the new year.

It's good that you got everything you wanted shopping. Must try that viewpoint from ground level but I'll be sure to look out for stray animals.

Ooh - I don't blame you for not wanting to go for a swim! I just love reading about you going to Glasgow to go shopping. (My dad's ancestors came to America from Glasgow.) Maybe one day, I'll get to visit!

Ellie, that shounds like an awesome time. I have only a small fabric store here in my town but it is super lovely and I like spending time there. You reminded me I need to make another trip soon.
