Adventure Into Nature

I was struggling to come up with a title for this blog so I asked Emma.  She came up with  'Adventure into Nature' - not bad eh!!!

Today Dan and I went out carpet buying.
Yes, we have eventually ventured out and bought our new hall carpet.
I have for a long time hankered after a red carpet and today we got it and I feel quite excited about it :))
Our hall has been decorated and this is about the last thing to do to finish it off.

So hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll have a hall to be proud of.

Then this afternoon I decided to go for a nice long walk - all by myself.
I was out for around 1 1/2 hours and really enjoyed it. The sky was blue, it was lovely and warm in the sun and the birds were singing their wee hearts out :))

I of course took my camera with me - you know I don't think I could go for a walk without my camera, I'd be scared I missed a prime photograph :))

Here are some pictures of what I saw on my walk.

This is the path I walked along.

The gorse bushes are out in full bloom.

When I got to the end of the walk I turned around and walked back the way I had come. Sometimes you miss things and need to go back to catch them.

I did see some unusual flowers.  I've no idea what the above is but it was very unusual.
The only trouble was when I took this picture I got stung by a nettle - ouch!!!!

And this unusual leaf formation. Isn't that amazing?

This is our local cemetary and I love how the tree overhangs next to it.

I really love how these wee white flowers are carpeting the grass.

There is so much beauty out there for us to see (and take pictures of) it's a real shame to not take advantage of it.

Hope everybody has a lovely weekend.

What a lovely walk you had! I have heard of gorse, but this is the first time I have ever seen it. Very lovely. Is that like a public walking trail through the town? Very nice

Photo # 6 Ellie has my attention, what a great composition, full of life and mystery. I am glad you took this walk. I thought you were a gardner? Didn't you have some plants going in a greenhouse, or window not long ago? Are you going to post the new hall carpet for us to see?

What a beautiful place to go for a walk. I've heard and read about gorse but had never seen it...very pretty yellow. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new red carpet.
You saw some lovely things on your walk. Beautiful photos.

I love that little grassy path you took for your walk. The gorse bushes are looking so pretty too. It's really fun to go off discovering in nature, isn't it, though I go on brisker walks without my camera too, just to get proper exercise - I can always go back if I see something I want to photograph!
Have a beautiful Sunday!
You have so many beautiful paths around your house. I love them - makes for such pretty pictures!

Each shot is better then the one before it. Hard to pick a favorite. But, I have heard of but never seen a gorse bush. Love the colors.
