When You Go Down To The Woods Today!!

No, I didn't see a teddy bears picnic - do you remember that song from childhood, or am I just showing my age lol.

I took a walk into our woods today - it was an absoloutely gorgeous day - LOVE it!!!! - and what  I did see were lots and lots and lots of beautiful snowdrops.

So I took a few pictures (as I do) and thought I would share them with you..

There were snowdrops with dirty faces!!!

Some that had a morning wash.

Some with the sun shining down on them  (please forgive the flare)

And snowdrops as far as the eye could see.

Such a beautiful springtime flower - don't you think?

Now I've just got time to post this blog and get ready for my work.

Hope you are having a great day wherever you are :))

Wow! I guess it's my turn now to complain about the weather! I remember months ago, you complained about it while I had beautiful weather here. We are freezing over here today with snow flakes while you are having this amazing spring-like weather :)
Btw I started a giveaway today, make sure to stop by!

I liked the way you said "with dirty faces" and "morning wash".
Oh, I wish spring to come soon(^_^)

The first snowdrops we ever saw were in Houghton Lake, Michigan, where we had moved over 32 years ago. We had never heard of them and imagine our surprise when we saw them pushed up through the snow. Such pretty and delicate, but extremely hardy, little flowers.
I have never heard of snowdrops before, they are beautiful. I wish we had flowers growing outside instead of the snow that we have. I can't wait for spring to come. I love your photos!!

Huh - they are gorgeous. Has your spring season started in Scotland then? A few people here have said they have daffodils poking up through the ground since it's been so warm. but that is very early for us.

Oh, wow, I dream of the day when I have a thick carpet of snow drops like that! (I got started last fall by planting 100 bulbs--I still have a ways to go!). Lovely photos and the ones of the snowdrops with dirty faces, made me smile.

These snowdrops are simply lovely. Don't think I have seen these flowers before, but really do look springy. Hope you took these after the frost...
