Chilling Out

I am on a day off today . I've done all that I need to, the washing is hanging on the line, hoovering, tidying up (the best I can considering we are in the middle of laying carpets and the house is a real mess!!!). I've been to the shops and done some grocery shopping.

Everybody is out of the house but me - and it's great!!!
Don't get me wrong I love having my family around me but sometimes it is so nice to have the house to myself to do what I want.

So here I am blogging and listening to my favourite CD.  Raising Sands by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.
I think it is brill!!!
The song I've been listening to just now is called "Killing The Blues".
The lyrics are great  - here is an example.

Leaves were falling just like embers
In colours red and gold they set us on fire
Burning just like a moonbeam in our eyes
Somebody said they saw me
Swinging the world by the tail
Bouncing over a white cloud
Killing the blues

Wow, chill out music or what!!!

I hope everybody is having a good day too - whatever you are doing :))

I used to like having the place to myself, but unfortunately that's not possible anymore. I like the photos - are they the views from your house?

Oh, I do know what you mean!
Sometimes, it's just nice to be able to just sit quietly, no one around, and do nothing but "be." I honestly find that I need time like this to just sort of recharge.
Enjoy every moment of your day my friend!
xo.

Enjoy your break! Our house is a mess too because I am painting...but I can already tell it will be worth it! I love Alison Krause....but I don't think I have heard of that album. I will have to go check it out.

I felt low all day yesterday but with good reason it was the first anniversary of my Mums death, so I think I was justified. Today the sun is shining and I am once again grateful for everything that is good. Lovely lyrics.

I had never heard of Alison Krauss or Robert Plant. I googled their music and listened to Killing the Blues and love it. Something new to add to my playlist. Thank you. Enjoy your free day.

My mom had a phrase for enjoying her time alone: she said: "I'm content with my own company". I think of that sometimes when I am content with mine!
I love days like that. I don't get them too often though. It sounds like your day off was wonderful. I hope you are having a great week as well.

Good song words, Ellie, but I can't imagine you having the blues, you're always so cheerful!
It's great having a day off all alone, isn't it?!
