Riley's Book

Phew!!!
What a busy few days I have had.

On Wednesday I had my haircut - and instantly felt better, you really can't beat a new hairdo, especially when people tell you how nice it is, mind you that could be translated as it was pretty bad before, lol :))

I was hoping to get home in time to take our Emma to a gp's appointment but got stuck in a traffic jam for 20 mins so didn't manage it.  So she had to walk and it was a rush too as she thought I was going to get there in time!!  I did manage to get there to wait with her and then we went for lunch which was very pleasant :))

Thursday was my birthday and I had to take our car for it's yearly MOT (annual check to make sure it's roadworthy) well unfortunately it failed!!!  It is an old car and we don't usually expect it to pass.
So Danny is busy working on it and it's going back in next week and hopefuly it will pass.  Cars are a real nuisance when they don't work aren't they?

Anyway after that I went for cocktails with my sis-in-law and niece.
I had two apple and strawberry cosmpolitans  - yummy!!!
Just as well I don't do this very often I can tell you :)  It's a yearly thing we have started as my sis-in-law's birthday is the same day as mine and it just seems like a really nice thing to do and this is now the 3rd year we have done it.

Friday, Emma and I went to Glasgow to meet Laura and wee Riley.  We had a very pleasant day shopping and then we had lunch.
So all in all my 3 days holiday have just flown by, sadly!

Last weekend I made a book of Riley's pics and I received it in the post yesterday.  I have to say I am so pleased with it.  I can see me doing a lot of these books :))
It's so easy - it just takes a wee while to do them, but I suppose with practice I will get quicker.

Here is a picture of the front and back of the book.

Pretty cool eh!!!

Anyway we are expecting Laura here any time now so I'd better get on and get sorted for them arriving.

Hope everybody had a great weekend and is ready to start a whole new week :))

What a lovely idea! The book I mean! I'm so glad that you had such an enjoyable birthday and I think the idea of getting together with your sis in law for drinks is a great one! Joan

Glad you got to have the holiday and do some things that were just fun! Sorry your car didn't pass...they used to do that testing here to make sure cars were road-worthy but they no longer do it.

Meant to ask...how in the world did you choose the photos for the book? I have tried to start one several times and have such a hard time choosing photos, that I end up giving up!

Love Riley's book! I do one every year of my family and favorite photos for the whole year. Much tidier than having a huge box of photographs. By the way, Riley is a cutie!

I'm glad you've decided to keep on blogging. I've been having a down time this summer too but now feel like getting into it again.

Isn't it wonderful that we can make such lovely books with so little effort (relatively)! I must give it a go. I did one a couple years ago. You've got such a lovely subject for yours :)
