Seashells

When we were down at the beach the other night, Karen was looking for small bits of driftwood and I was looking for shells. There were hundreds of shells lying around. A lot of them were broken but I did find some beauties.

I just love all of the colours, shapes and textures on them. It's amazing what comes from the sea.

I took some pictures just to show you.

 Aren't they wonderful.

Karen did find one piece of driftwood - it had been worn smooth by the sea and felt silky soft.
I wonder what she will do with it.
Watch this space :))

We actually went for another walk last night - but the weather has broken and it was very grey - no sunsets last night I'm afraid.  It was very cold as well with a biting wind nipping at our cheeks.

Some of your close-ups would look great as black and white. They have beautiful texture and strong lines. Very nice images.

And to think that I buy sea shells..:-( You have quite a collection there!! I also loved the amazing sunset pictures you posted. I have no views of sunrises or sunsets from my home, but when the sky turns an amazing pink, I know that the sunset that day is awesome!!!

It's great that you're getting out for regular walks. Love the shell photos. I have a collection I've taken to school. Must take some photos of them and put them on a post.
Beautiful photos. Well done!!
Very pretty pics, Ellie. We were at the lake this weekend and my daughter collected a cup of zebra mussel shells. I have a piece of driftwood on my deck and I just love it. We think it looks like a lizard. Can't wait to see what you do with yours.

Beautiful ! ... and that reminds me of a "phrase" we learnt at school maaaany years ago: "and the shells she sells are sea shells I´m sure"..
I don´t know if I got that right ?:))

HI Dear Friend,
I'm back from my sabbatical, I didn't figure in the A-Z Challenge so I've returned sooner than planned. I'm sure happy I did I love your walk along the shore. Gathering shells is one of my favorite things to do on a walk along the beach.

'May you always have a shell in your pocket and sand in your shoes.'
