A Special Cake for Mother's Day
On Sunday just gone it was Mother's Day here.
Here is what Karen made for me.
Isn't it wonderful?
I think my girl has real talent. She puts so much time and effort into each of her cakes.
The bears each represent a member of our wee family - mum, dad and the three girls. She also made apples, bananas and crisps and we are all having a picnic.
Not only did it look absolutely lovely, it tasted wonderful too!!!
She made this cake while we were away at Edinburgh.
I got a text from her saying she had killed a chicken - and I couldn't understand what she was on about.
What had actually happened was when she cracked open an egg inside was a dead chicken.
It really upset her (which I could totally understand).
I have never had that happen to me - and I've bought a lot of eggs over the years. In fact I don't know of anybody else that has happened to either.
Is this anything anybody else has had experience of?
Anyway to end on a happier note - I had a great Mother's Day and I have three lovely daughters. What more could a mum ask for :))

her cake is precious! so cute!
And yes, it happened to me last Sunday morning when I was cracking eggs for an omlete...all into one bowl. Needless to say, I had to throw the whole lot out, and I'm not too keen on eating eggs at the moment!
The cake is adorabe - and Karen is very talented!
I 've heard of that happening to someone else - but now, I can't remember who it was. Thankfully, it's never happened to me. I think it would put me off eggs forever!
I've never had that happen but I have a girlfriend that had it happen...more than once in the same dozen. :(
(Happy Mother's Day!)
I remember this happening to my mom cracking an egg when I was younger. I was watching her cook, as I always did...needless to say, it was very disturbing for a little girl to see.
Oh, belated Happy mother's day♡♡♡ How thoughtful and sweet your Karen is♬♬♬
The cake sure looks SO cute and wonderful!!!
Wow, I never had the experience in the egg for my 56 years old life, hehe.
I can understand how she must have felt☆☆☆
Blessing to your,xoxo Miyako*
OOH- I've never heard of anyone finding a chicken when they cracked an egg. That would probably turn me off eggs forever....
and i have never had an egg experience like that!!
I'm sorry to hear about the dead chicken :( that is very upsetting. It hasn't happened to me either.
How old is your daughter?
What a sweet thing for her to do for you.
I did not know Mother's Day came so early for you.
Ours is in May.
Nice post, adorable cake.
